合成酵素(NOS)の基質である。我々はアルギニン2.5g を含むアイソカル®・アルジネード(アルジネード)の経口投与が若年健康成人の前腕血管拡張機能を増強することを報告した(西南女学院大学大学紀要2010)。しかし、アルジネードには抗酸化ビタミンであるビタミンCとビタミンE が含まれており、それらが前腕血管拡張機能の増強に影響を及ぼした可能性がある。そこで、前腕血管拡張機能に対する効果を、抗酸化ビタミンを含むアルジネードを投与した場合と、アルギニン2.5g を含むが抗酸化ビタミンを含まないアイソカル®・ジェリーArg(ジェリーArg)を投与した場合で比較し、血管拡張機能の増強効果がアルギニン単独によるものか、抗酸化ビタミンが影響しているのかを検討した。対象は20代若年健康女性9名、静脈閉鎖プレチスモグラフ法を用いて安静時および5分間の疎血後に生じる反応性充血中の前腕血流量を測定した。対象者をランダムにA、B の2群に分け、クロスオーバー法を用いて、アルジネードを1本/日、もしくはジェリーArg を1個/日を4週間投与する前後で安静時および反応性充血中の前腕血流量の測定と血液検査、尿検査を行った。血液検査では総コレステロール、中性脂肪、HDL- コレステロール、高感度C 反応性蛋白(CRP)、高分子アディポネクチン、尿検査では尿中NOx 濃度とNOx/Cr 値を測定した。結果、アルジネードおよびジェリーArg 投与後に反応性充血中の前腕血流量が有意に増加し、その増加の程度はアルジネードとジェリーArg で同等であった。血液検査、 尿検査では、すべての項目でアルジネードおよびジェリーArg
